The I-Spy series is comprised of three books at present; this is the second in that series.Mark Hardwicke is retired from the British spy business. He's happily settled--more or less--into life as a private citizen with Stephen. It's not as exciting as working behind enemy lines, but then it's not as dangerous either. When the opportunity presents itself to take another mission, Mark must choose between the career he left behind, and keeping Stephen.
As usual, Lanyon's lyrical prose carries the story right along. The characters are engaging, and it's easy to root for this couple to get their HEA.
Highly recommend. Reading I Spy Something Bloody beforehand is useful, but certainly not required to follow the events in this book.

Nice, quick story that has enough tension and intrigue to keep the pages turning. Different from Josh's usual work and worth the time.
Good series!
I like this, and all JL's books. Great characters and plot. But, treat all three together as a one normal length novel.

Excellent romatic gay novel with great character interaction over an agonizing personal decision regarding one character.
I like Josh Lanyon's writing and have enjoyed many of his earlier novels. I don't know if it's editorial pressure, or a need for money, but I have decided that I'm not going to pay $4 bucks anymore to read short stories. I'll wait till his next real novel comes out before I read him again.
Another tour de force by Josh Lanyon. Wow. This is a very short read but filled with angst and deep emotion which just jumps off the page.
First I need to say that it might be best to read I Spy Something Bloody first because otherwise it could appear that this is a story about not much. But with the previous book as prelude, this is a riveting read the tension increases throughout as Mark wrestles with whether or not he should do what he considers to be his duty and whether he actually deserves the happiness of the status quo. I didn't know which he would choose and felt all of the heart-rending emotions along the way.
